I have a feeling that this is one of those Seinfeld posts… a post about nothing.
No deep insights, no clever meanings, no heavy introspection. I’m going to spare myself (and you?.. whoever you are) of that kind of thing.
I like the details. I think details should be celebrated. Today had some great details. Everyday ordinary stuff.
Awesome cup of tea this morning. Milk/sugar ratio was just right.
Baby J slept for (wait for it) 50 minutes at one point during the day. Yes, in a row. I nearly fell off my chair (in a figurative joyful way).
In that 50 minutes you’d think I would have tidied the house, got all my paperwork done, established world peace… but no, I baked some corn-bacon-zuchinni-cheesy muffins. From scratch. (Thank you Kate Says Stuff for the inspiration). I even used zuchinnis from our own garden, so I felt even more chuffed.
I met 3 pregnant ladies today. Felt like I was surrounded by beautiful bellies. Didn’t feel inspired though to “eat lots of chocolate” so that I would have a pregnant belly too (apparently my 7 year old niece thinks this is the reason behind her teacher being pregnant). Ah, so that’s how it happens!
I took some photos of my baby’s first teeth cutting through.. can’t believe that milestone crept up on me. Was so not expecting it at 18 weeks. (Looks like a cruel photo of me holding him down, but no, he bites my fingers all the time).
And then tonight my daughter held my hand (my other hand holding baby), and held her father’s hand and we danced in the kitchen. We did the ‘Wiggly-woo’.
There you have it. Positively pleasureable details about nothing.
